The Tree Room is suited for babies six weeks to approximately six months and the Polka Dot Room is for infants six months to about one year old. We have cribs, sit-n-sleeps, swings, and bouncers for naps and playtime. Each child’s day focuses on their individual needs and schedules.
Communication is key to keeping parents involved and aware of their child’s activities and growth while at our center. We support this by:
Our Farm Room is designed for children who are twelve to eighteen months old. We understand that this is a time of rapid development. In the Farm Room we provide a warm and loving environment.
The Castle Room is designed for children that are eighteen months to two years of age. These children are transitioning from learning to walk, to running, and talking more and more. They are able to focus on activities and the large room allows them to be active.
In this room the teachers start to incorporate lesson planning into your child’s discovery through group play, circle time songs and books, arts and crafts, sensory experiences, and by keeping a steady stream of conversation so your child is introduced to vocabulary. Our caregivers will use signing to help children communicate needs such as: more, please, thank you, eat, milk, etc. Children also have outside playtime or gym time where they have the space to practice their gross motor skills such as running and climbing in a safe, enclosed, age appropriate environment.
We recognize that toddlers are striving to be self-reliant. The toddler room is designed to offer a safe, secure, and loving environment where the children engage in challenging and meaningful activities at their own pace. Some children in this age group are ready for potty training, and some are not. We will be more than happy to accommodate your child’s needs. We will begin potty training if your child shows interest, and we will incorporate positive reinforcement.
The Sesame Street Room is for children that do not attend our preschool. It is also for those children who are in our 3-4 preschool but do not have class every day. Although this is not a preschool class they still have a lot of structured learning activities such as days of the week and arts and crafts.
There are two classes offered for the three and four year old preschoolers. Our three day class is held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 am - 11:30 am and two day class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am - 11:30 am.
All children learn at different levels and in different ways. This is something that becomes more pronounced around age 3 and continues throughout a child’s education. We will strive to meet every child’s needs. In this room the teachers will begin to recognize and cater our curriculum to all types of learners; visual learners, auditory learners, kin-esthetic learners, etc. Keep in mind, development isn’t just a term that refers to cognitive abilities. It also includes emotional maturity, physical development, adaptive skills, and self-help skills. All of these areas will be focused on in the Jungle Room.
The goal for our Pre-Kindergarten program is to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for each child. The curriculum for the Ocean Preschool is designed for ages 4-5. We focus on getting your child ready for Kindergarten, while learning shapes, colors, the alphabet and sounds, Spanish, and various themes. Each lesson is focused on developmentally appropriate projects that are designed to develop each child intellectually, socially, and emotionally, along with enhancing their motor skills.
This room is designed for school-aged children, Kindergarten through 12 years of age. Large tables allow space for the children to do their homework; with our staff being available to provide help when needed. The Space Room has a variety of toys for the children such as Lego's, puzzles, board games, and activity books. These children also have the opportunity to go outside to the playground (weather permitting) or to the gym to run and play.
