Daycare Tour

Infant Rooms

The Tree Room is suited for babies six weeks to approximately six months and the Polka Dot Room is for infants six months to about one year old. We have cribs, sit-n-sleeps, swings, and bouncers for naps and playtime. Each child’s day focuses on their individual needs and schedules.

Communication is key to keeping parents involved and aware of their child’s activities and growth while at our center. We support this by:

  • Maintaining a daily sheet which tracks each infant’s activities, meals, diapering, and sleep.
  • Encouraging frequent conversations between teachers and parents.
  • Implementing an open door policy which allows parents to visit at any time and spend time in the classroom.

  • While meeting the physical needs, the staff talks, sings, and plays with each child.
  • Children are given room to move and explore in safe surroundings.
  • Teachers provide daily written communication about feeding, diapering, napping, and other daily activities.
  • We work closely with families to assure continuity of care between home and the center.

The Castle Room

18-24 Month Olds

The Castle Room is designed for children that are eighteen months to two years of age. These children are transitioning from learning to walk, to running, and talking more and more. They are able to focus on activities and the large room allows them to be active.

In this room the teachers start to incorporate lesson planning into your child’s discovery through group play, circle time songs and books, arts and crafts, sensory experiences, and by keeping a steady stream of conversation so your child is introduced to vocabulary.  Our caregivers will use signing to help children communicate needs such as:  more, please, thank you, eat, milk, etc.  Children also have outside playtime or gym time where they have the space to practice their gross motor skills such as running and climbing in a safe, enclosed, age appropriate environment.

Road Room

Toddlers

We recognize that toddlers are striving to be self-reliant. The toddler room is designed to offer a safe, secure, and loving environment where the children engage in challenging and meaningful activities at their own pace. Some children in this age group are ready for potty training, and some are not.  We will be more than happy to accommodate your child’s needs.  We will begin potty training if your child shows interest, and we will incorporate positive reinforcement.

  • Toddlers learn through exploration, observation and play. Opportunities are provided for pretending, participating in small groups, and playing by themselves throughout the day.
  • Large motor experiences are provided indoors and outdoors in a safe environment.
  • Many opportunities for small motor development are offered. Toddlers explore using hands and fingers in a variety of age-appropriate activities.
  • Toddlers have opportunities to experience songs, books, finger plays, and interactive games. The children are read to individually and in small groups. Books are always accessible for independent exploration.
  • Teachers provide daily written communication about feeding, diapering, napping, and other daily activities. We work closely with families to assure continuity of care between home and the center.

Jungle Room

Preschool

There are two classes offered for the three and four year old preschoolers. Our three day class is held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 am - 11:30 am and two day class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am - 11:30 am.

All children learn at different levels and in different ways.  This is something that becomes more pronounced around age 3 and continues throughout a child’s education.  We will strive to meet every child’s needs.  In this room the teachers will begin to recognize and cater our curriculum to all types of learners; visual learners, auditory learners, kin-esthetic learners, etc.  Keep in mind, development isn’t just a term that refers to cognitive abilities.  It also includes emotional maturity, physical development, adaptive skills, and self-help skills.  All of these areas will be focused on in the Jungle Room.
